A lovely, unexpected and cosy retreat that is spacious and conveniently placed for good walking. The beautiful scenery, good train service into Manchester and many welcoming pubs and good restaurants make this area very attractive.
With comfortable lounge and distinctive open stonework, the fireplace, freestanding kitchen and circular table all add to the style of the cottage. The pleasant garden and patio area are nice to sit in the late afternoon sun.
The house also offers a large double bedroom with freeview TV. The second bedroom is smaller and cosier with a single bed. there is Gas central heating, a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridgefreezer, washer/dryer, 2 x TVs with Freeview and Now TV, DVD and WiFi.

Lovely, comfy cottage and a great place to explore from. Bus to Hayfield and Buxton, and train to Manchester all easy. Beautiful walks around Snake Pass, Broadbottom and Charlesworth. Queen's Arms a must for the Thornbridge beer. Looking forward to a return visit one day!

Much bigger than we were expecting for a sleeps 3 cottage (we ate in most nights it was so well appointed and comfortable) and so much to do on the doorstep.
We explored Glossop (ate in Ayobowen, Sri Lankan), went walking up Kinder Scout, visited the National Mining museum, went to Manchester by train, walked part of the millennium walk in New Mills (lovely vegetarian cafe) and went to the Derwent Dam/area.
and played pool a lot in the Commercial Inn.
